Robin Schiff

Robin Schiff  has been teaching the Alexander Technique for more than 30 years and Pilates for 20. She developed the Alexander Technique and Pilates programs at Brooklyn College for their Physical Education and Exercise Science Department where she taught faculty and students for 17 years.   Robin was on the faculty at Mannes College, (The New School for Music), teaching the Alexander Technique to musicians for 2 years. Other NY teaching experience has included The Actor’s Studio, Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group, Kingsborough Community College, the American Center for the Alexander Technique, and Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique, currently known as Sapientia Initiative.

Robin’s earlier professional experience was as a music therapist with varied (psychiatric adult, geriatric and adolescent) populations and as music director for two Denver youth orchestras. She was a computer programmer/analyst for Saks Fifth Avenue in the late 1980’s.

Robin received her Bachelor of  Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University in 1979, is nationally certified by AmSAT, the American Society of  Teachers of the Alexander Technique, and Balanced Body, recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance.
